Daniel Coatsworth

Dan Coatsworth is an Investment Analyst and Editor in Chief at AJ Bell. He has been with the company since December 2012 and has 19 years' experience in the industry, commenting on the markets and all things investing.

Dan is heavily involved in the content published by AJ Bell, which includes providing market commentary, starring in our educational videos, writing for Shares Magazine and co-presenting our Money and Markets podcast, as well as hosting and presenting at events for customers – both in person and online.

Gay Collins

With over three decades of experience advising many of the most exciting, progressive companies within asset and wealth management, Gay Collins is one of the three Founding Partners of Montfort Communications.  She has a reputation for pragmatic advice and is one of the UK’s best connected and influential practitioners in the public relations arena, featuring every year in PR Week’s Power Book since its inception in 2007. 

In addition to leading Montfort’s Financial Services team, Gay is a Non Executive Director of Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust Plc and a board member of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).  From 2013 to 2022 she was JP Morgan Global Growth & Income plc’s NED then its Senior Independent Director.  She is a founding Steering Committee member of the 30% Club and has supported it on a pro bono basis for a decade by leading its communications work.   

Prior to co-founding Montfort, Gay set up two other public relations companies - Ludgate Communications which was bought by Interpublic, and Penrose Financial, which became MHP after its sale to Engine Group. She started her career in Eurobond sales at Merrill Lynch. 

Paul Angell

Paul began his investment career with a global investment bank in 2010, holding various roles across London and Hong Kong over the proceeding years. In 2016 Paul then joined a, UK based, investment consultancy business. Here he was responsible for selecting investment strategies, across asset classes, for  the firm's clients, as well as its £2.5 billion managed portfolio service. Paul joined AJ Bell in 2023 to lead the firm’s investment research offering, ensuring clients have great investment options to select from.

Richard Romer-Lee

Richard is a co-founder of Square Mile and is responsible for determining the strategy and focus for the business in conjunction with the Board and the Management Team. He works closely with clients, as well forging strong business relationships within the wider industry. Richard regularly interviews leading industry figures for Square Mile’s popular ‘Talking With’ series.

Ryan Hughes

Ryan started his career in 1999 working for an independent financial adviser, progressing to become Head of Portfolio Management at an award-winning advisory firm. Ryan then joined a global asset management firm as a Fund Manager, where he oversaw more than £10bn of multi-asset portfolios and also sat on the investment and global asset allocation committees. After seven years, Ryan joined a small multi-asset boutique managing portfolios for clients all around the world, before joining AJ Bell in 2016 to help establish our investment capability and overseeing all investment research for AJ Bell. In 2022, Ryan was appointed as Head of Investment Partnerships with responsibility for managing bespoke portfolios tailored to specific adviser needs and then in 2023, Ryan was made Investments Director with oversight of AJ Bell’s investment capability.

Ryan is a member of the CFA UK Society, is frequently asked for his views in the press and on panel debates while also being recognised as one of the leading fund researchers in the UK.

Terry McGivern

Terry started his career in 2005, with a variety of operational roles in investment banking and investment management. In 2010, he became a proprietary futures trader at one of the world’s largest, independent global commodities brokers. Prior to joining AJ Bell, Terry spent five years on the Investment Management Team at a discretionary investment manager in Liverpool, where he was also a member of the Asset Allocation Committee. Having spent 4 years as a fund manager on the AJ Bell fund range and passive portfolios, Terry moved to his current role as Senior Research Analyst for Passive, Smart Beta and Alternative Investments in 2021. He holds the CFA-UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is currently studying towards the CFA Level 2 exam.

Tom Sieber

Tom Sieber is the editor of Shares magazine, a regular contributor to the AJ Bell Money & Markets podcast and a stock market analyst for AJ Bell. Covering a variety of different sectors including resources and media he has been a journalist for nearly two decades and has written about investing since 2007.

William Heathcoat Amory

William Heathcoat Amory is a Co-Founding Partner of Kepler Partners, and leads the Investment Trust Research business via Kepler Trust Intelligence. William has more than twenty years experience as an Investment Company analyst. Prior to co-founding Kepler Partners in 2008, he was part of the Extel number 1 rated Investment Companies Research team at JPMorgan Cazenove.
